Sračinec Primary School participated in its first mobility in Spain within the Erasmus + K2 project "ICT AND GEOGRAPHY AT THE SERVICE OF THE MEETING OF YOUNG EUROPEANS". It took place in a small town in the north of the province of Castelló, Benicarlo.
Six sixth-graders (Rea Ganzer, Eni Grđan, Marta Jurčević, Ariana Koščak, Karel Stolnik and Leda Šobak) accompanied by three teachers (Jelena Novak Pojer, Jelena Novoselec Crnčić and Petra Stojko) went on the long-awaited mobility.
As part of the project, students learned about new digital tools that can be used in teaching geography as well as their application in other school subjects.

We took the bus to Zagreb in front of the Elementary School Sračinec on November 29, 2021. at 2:00 p.m. We continued our journey from the Franjo Tuđman Airport at 6:20 minutes on the first and most exciting flight to Frankfurt. The flight lasted only 1:30 minutes.
From Frankfurt we arrived in Valencia on the second flight at 11:55, and there we also used new means of transport - the subway and the train that took us to Benicarlo at 16:20. The hosts met us at the train station and drove us to the Hotel Rosi. After we settled down and took a short break, all participants of the Erasmus + project went to dinner where they tried Italian specialties.

Our program officially began on November 30 at the Colegio Ntra school. Shit. de la Consolación de Benicarló at 9:00 am where we were greeted by a welcome program. The program presented the school and the activities that take place in the school itself (dance, songs ...).

After the lunch organized at the school, students from all countries participating in the project (Spain, Italy, Guadalupe and Croatia) presented their works in which they described their hometown and school.
Students spent their free time on the school playground where games were organized through which students had the opportunity to meet and socialize with other students involved in the project.
The first workshop for students was held by teacher Antonio, who prepared an interesting and exciting game "Breakout". Students were divided into teams with each team receiving instructions that were in envelopes. Our team consisting of students Leda, Marta and Rea was the fastest and best in solving puzzles.
On the same day, we visited the shipyard in Benicarlo, where the children had the opportunity to see how to build new ships, extend existing ships and a warehouse with some of the most expensive yachts in the area.

The next day we visited the museum "Museu de les arts i les ciencies" located in Valencia. The museum is interactive in nature, and is located inside a large complex that looks like a dinosaur skeleton. Students researched and tested topics related to history, geography, nature, chemistry in an interesting way…
After sightseeing we headed to lunch where we tried a traditional Spanish dish paella.

Wednesday was marked by a digital photography workshop. The introductory lecture was given by professional photographer Xavi Doménech Cid, who explained the processing of photographs with the help of two applications (Snapseed and Ligthroom). The practical part of the workshop was done on the beach where the children took pictures and processed photos with the help of the mentioned applications.
We spent the evening in the nearby town of Peñiscola. There we learned more about the historical and geographical features of the city. This was also the last, official day of the ERASMUS + project. After dinner we said goodbye to our partners and friends from Spain, Italy and Guadalupe and wished everyone a safe trip back home.

The day after the end of the Erasmus + program, a trip to Barcelona was organized, at his own expense and with the prior consent of parents. We took the bus from Benicarlo at 6:40 a.m. and arrived in Barcelona at 11 p.m. After lunch we went on a sightseeing tour. Some of the sights we saw were: Sagrada Familia, Batillo House, La Rambla…

Early in the morning our adventure is slowly coming to an end. We take a taxi from Hotel Rosi to Benicarlo Train Station. There, instead of the train, which did not run due to some difficulties, we reached Valencia by bus. From Valencia Airport, we took off at 12:40 and arrived in Frankfurt at 15:10. We had lunch at the airport and continued our trip on the last flight at 20:40. We landed in Zagreb at 22:00 and continued by bus to the Elementary School Sračinec.
With this project, students were introduced to new digital tools that will surely help them in their further education. They got to know new cultures and customs, learned more about the education system in Spain, tried traditional Spanish dishes and most importantly made new friends.
