Općenito o projektu S.T.A.R.T.
This project is designed as education and training of teachers of the Elementary School Sračinec with the aim of achieving its mission.
Our school wants to provide quality, modern, creative and interactive teaching that would guide our students towards the European dimension and provide them with the knowledge and skills needed to live and compete in the labor market in the 21st century.
After a detailed analysis of the needs of our school, with this project we decided to focus on three specific goals:
1) improvement of key competencies and skills of staff
2) raising the quality of teaching by introducing new methods and approaches
3) internationalization of the school.
The project team selected 7 highly motivated employees of the School who will participate in structured courses that take place in four different countries, implement the acquired knowledge in teaching and extracurricular activities, and disseminate project results inside and outside our institution.
The planned courses are:
1. "Creative ways of teaching outdoors", Slovenia, April 2022.
The course will be attended by mathematics teacher Sunčica Kelemenić in order to get acquainted with a new method of work that they would like to use more in teaching and through project activities in future projects, and that is outdoor learning. The teacher will get acquainted with the philosophy and principles of outdoor learning, will acquire practical competencies through activities in a large outdoor classroom and examples of good practice.
2. "Movement and Learning: The importance of movement in our classrooms", Slovenia, November 2021.
The course will be attended by primary school teacher Miroslav Kelemenić in order to get acquainted with new methods of teaching through the application of movement in games and activities. Through lectures and workshops and professional visits to Slovenian schools and the exchange of good practice, the teacher will learn new teaching methods related to movement, Brain Gym and Double Doodle Play.
3. "Team-Leading in Education", Spain, August 2021
The course will be attended by the director Lidija Valec in order to improve her management skills. The main goals of the course are to increase managerial competencies and motivation skills. Through practical workshops and a theoretical part, the principal will acquire the skills needed by the head of the school and project activities. The course is intended for the professional service of the school in order to improve their management skills. The main goals of the course are to increase managerial competencies and motivation skills.
4. "Teaching creativity in schools, inspired by Edward de Bono", Slovenia, November 2020.
The course will be attended by an art teacher to train for new teaching methods according to the teachings of Edward de Bono. The main goal of the course is to prepare teachers and other participants for professional teaching of lessons using the creative and constructive thinking of students.
5. "Entrepreneurial education in school - creative and effective methods and tools ", Italy, March 2022.
The course will be attended by an English teacher. Through the course, he will deal with entrepreneurial skills of the 21st century and methodologies and learning activities for the development of entrepreneurial attitude and entrepreneurial skills in school. Upon completion of the course, acquired competencies are expected that will enable the initiation of creativity and entrepreneurial spirit in students and the ability to use tools and instruments to implement ideas to turn an idea into a product or service.
6. "Erasmus + project management and educational visit", Spain, July 2021.
The course will be attended by a geography teacher, as well as the leader of the school project team in order to train for further participation in Erasmus + projects. Through project activities, participants will acquire specific writing skills for a successful Erasmus + project, and with key concepts for writing project applications. Also, networking activities and potential introduction of future project partners will be organized.
7. "Innovative skills in ICT through collaborative and project-based teaching and learning", Spain, August 2021.
The course will be attended by a computer science teacher to get acquainted with current trends in information and communication technology and exchange experiences of good practice with colleagues from other European countries. The teacher will acquire competencies for using web 2.0 tools and will adopt ways to motivate students to work in these tools. It will also improve the necessary skills in information and communication technology that will help it to launch a strategic partnership KA2 within the Erasmus + project.
The results we expect from this project will manifest on several levels.
At the school level, it will upgrade the curriculum through the introduction of new workshops and extracurricular activities, establishing cooperation with partners from other European countries, increased project management capacity at the international level, popularization of entrepreneurship, better ability to motivate and manage the team and new internationalization strategies.
The expected results for teachers will be an increase in their language competences, the adoption of new ICT tools, the adoption of effective and innovative teaching methods, an increase in motivation and a sense of belonging to the European cultural circle.
The results of this project for students will be an increase in motivation to learn through new teaching methods, a greater choice of creative and stimulating extracurricular activities, the acquisition of competencies in entrepreneurship and financial literacy, language and computer technology.
In the long run, we expect that the integration of newly acquired knowledge will be reflected in better results, success and achievements of students of our School, their preparation for real life and improving their employment opportunities in the future. In the long run, we expect the teaching staff to increase motivation, take the initiative in further professional development and a higher level of job satisfaction, which is the basis for a happy school as we want to be.
